Pollywogs
Natalia
Miss Natalia has been teaching in the Pollywog room since May 2008. She really enjoys working with the babies and seeing them grow. She and her husband have a daughter that attends LCC. Miss Natalia comes from a large family and hopes to have a large family of her own one day.
Belkis
Miss Belkis is a teacher in the Pollywog Room. She has been taking care of the babies at LCC since it opened in 2000. Miss Belkis has a lot of experience taking care of children in the home environment previous to working at LCC. Miss Belkis is originally from The Dominican Republic. She and her husband have three wonderful children.
Nubia
Miss Nubia is an afternoon teacher in the Pollywog room and a float teacher the rest of the school day. She has been working at LCC since 2004. Miss Nubia has had more than 10 years of formal childcare experience, but she also has twelve siblings and has been doing childcare since she was a little girl. Miss Nubia is originally from Venezuela and has a son and daughter who have graduated from LCC.
Turtles
Jennifer
Miss Jennifer has been teaching in the Turtle room since June of 2007. She received her Bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in Early Childhood Education. While she is not at LCC she loves to play with her Chihuahua, read biographies and improve her cooking skills.
Miss Christina
Miss Christina is a teacher in the Turtle Room and has been with LCC since 2009. She finds the toddler age to be very exciting and a lot of fun to work with. Before coming to LCC Miss Christina received her Associates Degree and nannied for two years. She and her husband, Jake, have a little boy that attends LCC. They are excited to have him in their lives and hope to have a lot more children someday. Miss Christina is the second youngest of six children and loves spending time with her family.
Bears
Katrina
Miss Katrina has been teaching in the Bear Room since 2005. She graduated from Columbus State Community College with an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. In Miss Katrina’s free times she enjoys watching old movies and musicals or cooking and baking for her brother.
Sandy
Miss Sandy is the teacher in the Bear Room and has been at LCC since 2001. She received her Child Development Credentials from Columbus State University and has been an Early Childhood Teacher for over 20 years. Miss Sandy also has a background in retail and as support staff to The OSU Medical Center. The teaching field has allowed Miss Sandy extra time to raise her 3 children and time to spend with her 4 wonderful grandchildren.
Jasmine
Miss Jasmine is the afternoon teacher in the Bear Room and substitutes as needed, so she knows most of the children at LCC. Miss Jasmine has been working at LCC since 2007 and is the daughter of Miss Sharon from the Whale Room. She is currently pursuing her Psychology degree online through Argosy University. She is going to be a psychologist and work with children struggling with various behavioral disorders. Miss Jasmine loves children of all ages and is able to get down on their level by learning through play and art.
Whales
Sareena
Miss Sareena teaches in the Whale Room and has been with LCC since 2001. She received her degree from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. Miss Sareena and her husband have two children. She loves spending time working with children at LCC, but also enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.
Sharon
Miss Sharon is a teacher in the Whale Room and has been working at LCC since 2004. In total, Miss Sharon has done childcare for over 15 years. She has three children of her own and is blessed to have one of them also working at LCC in the Bear Room. Working with children is Miss Sharon’s passion and she works very hard to be sure that her Whale friends are prepared for Kindergarten.
Antonella
Miss Antonella is the afternoon teacher in the Whale Room and has been working for LCC since 2008. Miss Antonella loves working with children and is also passionate about animals. She is currently pursuing her veterinary science degree from Columbus State. Miss Antonella is originally from Uruguay and enjoys reading and spending time with friends when she is not at LCC.
Mouse/Minnow
Brenda
Miss Brenda teaches the Mouse and Minnow Classes and has been with LCC since 2002. She earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Ohio Northern University in 1980. Miss Brenda has been married to her husband Tim for almost 30 years and they have three wonderful daughters.
Miss Carolyn
Miss Carolyn teaches the Mouse/Minnow class with Miss Brenda. Miss Carolyn and her husband have been residents in Westerville for eight years. They are originally from Youngstown, Ohio, but have lived and worked in other Ohio communities.
Miss Carolyn has a B.S. in Education from Youngstown State University and a M.A. from The Ohio State University. She is a retired elementary school teacher, having taught kindergarten, first grade, third grade, and remedial reading. She has also taught Head Start and was a part-time preschool teacher for six years after retiring. Miss Carolyn became a substitute teacher at LCC in 2008.
Miss Carolyn has two grown children and four grandchildren who live in the Columbus area. Spending time with family is her greatest joy. She also enjoys traveling, golf, biking, attending cultural and community events, and getting together with friends. She is active in the Women’s Group at her church and often chaperones or participates in her grandchildren’s school activities.
Lamb/Duck
Teri
Miss Teri has been at LCC since 2004 and teaches the Duck, Lamb, and Penguin classes. Before working at LCC, Miss Teri was a therapist and worked with children in treatment foster care. She graduated from The Ohio State University and received her Master's Degree in Counseling Education from The University of Dayton. Miss Teri and her husband have two children, who both graduated from LCC.
Jenni
Jennifer, or Miss Jenni as the children call her, teaches the Duck, Lamb, and Penguin classes. She has been working at LCC since August of 2007. Miss Jenni received her B.A. in Psychology from Greenville College, with a focus on childhood and educational psychology and a minor in Philosophy/Religion. Miss Jenni and her husband Aaron have been married for almost 10 years and have two wonderful boys, one of which attends LCC.
Lion/Alligator
Becky
Miss Becky teaches the Lion and Alligator classes with Miss Shelley as well as Pre K Plus. She has been with LCC since it opened in 2000. Miss Becky graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (specialization in Learning Disabilities) and her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She has had the opportunity to teach in a variety of settings, including Kindergarten, first grade, third grade, preschools, and with children that have emotional, behavioral and developmental disorders. Miss Becky has been married for over 34 years and has two grown sons. She has also been a life long member of Linworth United Methodist Church.
Her educational philosophy is expressed in the song lyrics:

They are just starting out, and how far they will go, Depends on the loving to learn that they come to know. If they are spellbound with loving to learn, then the dream of a child will make the whole world turn."
Shelley
Miss Shelley has been with LCC since 2001 and teaches the Lion and Alligator classes. She is the mother of 2 daughters. Originally from Pennsylvania, she graduated from Lock Haven University with a BA in Psychology.
Diane
Miss Diane has been a substitute teacher at LCC since the fall of 2006 and can be found in any room at LCC, from the Pollywogs to Kindergarteners to Funtastic Fridays. She graduated from The University of Akron with a B.S. in Education (K-8), a minor in science, and taught second graders for seven years. Miss Diane has also taught the Stevenson Reading Program and Semple Math Program for several years to adults with learning problems. She enjoys the out of doors - hiking, biking, and kayaking. Miss Diane and her husband, Tom, have two children, one of whom she is privileged to work with, Miss Katrina of the Bear Room.
Denise
Miss Denise is the Seed Time teacher for the Lion and Alligator classes. She has her B.S. in Education from Greenville College and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Library and Information Science from Kent State University. Miss Denise has been with LCC since 2009. Before teaching at LCC she spent two years teaching English to Japanese students in Funehiki, Japan. In her spare time, Miss Denise enjoys running, reading, baking, and traveling.
Kindergarten Bound
Alison
Miss Alison teaches Kindergarten Bound and has been with LCC since 2002. She attended West Virginia University and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education and then received her Master's in Early Childhood Education at Marshall University. Miss Alison has been teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten for over 15 years. Outside of LCC, she and her wonderful husband enjoy playing with their dog.
Marci
Miss Marci teaches Kindergarten Bound and has been with LCC since 2001. She graduated from Worthington High School and The Ohio State University. Outside of the classroom, Miss Marci is the head coach for Thomas Worthington gymnastics team. She and her husband have two boys that are active in athletics.
Kindergarten/Kindergarten Enrichment
Mrs. Haviland
Mrs. Haviland graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor degree in Education and has an Elementary and Special Teaching License from the State of Ohio. She has been a teacher at LCC since 2000 and has taught Kindergarten since 2001. Mrs. Haviland and her husband have three children of their own.
Miss Andrea
Miss Andrea has been with LCC since 2002 and has taught or substituted in almost all of the classrooms. She is the Kindergarten Aide, teaches Kindergarten Specials, and Enrichment Fridays. Miss Andrea has been happily married for over 15 years and has two children. Before working at LCC, Miss Andrea stayed home with her children and had experience working at a summer camp for under-privileged children. She is currently pursuing her early childhood teaching certificate.
Miss Adriana
Miss Adriana teaches Aftercare for LCC’s Kindergarten and Kindergarten Bound students. She has been working at LCC since 2008 and enjoys her time with the children, especially doing art projects. Miss Adriana is currently pursuing her degree in Interior Design from Clark State. She is originally from Uruguay and is one of our many bilingual teachers at LCC.
Office/Administration
Anna
Miss Anna is the program coordinator at LCC and has been with LCC since 2001. Miss Anna graduated from Wittenberg University with a degree in Sociology. Miss Anna has many years of experience in early childhood development and programming. She works closely with Susan and manages the programming and staffing portion of LCC. She and her husband have a beautiful daughter that attends LCC.
Susan
Miss Susan is the office manager at LCC and has been with LCC since 2001. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Business and previously worked in Human Resources. Miss Susan works closely with Anna and manages the business end of the children’s center. Miss Susan is married and has two children that have been through our full-day and Kindergarten programs.
Patty
Miss Patty has been with LCC since the center opened in 2000. She taught in the Mouse and Minnow classes until she retired in 2008 but can still be seen substituting in any classroom or helping in the office. Miss Patty’s granddaughter has been through our program here at LCC.
